Bad Day Donuts is the brainchild of a vegan baker who'd long admired other vegan donuts from afar. When she moved to Chicago in 2014, she fell in love with the vegan food culture - including the delicious donuts! When the local vegan donuttery closed down in 2016 she decided to make it her mission to bring vegan donuts back to the city. After six months of extensive recipe testing and tinkering to create the perfect soft, fluffy yeast-risen donut, Bad Day Donuts was born.
Nope, not yet! We may open a brick and mortar location sometime in the future, but right now you can find our donuts at area coffee shops. Interested in carrying them? Check out our wholesale information!
You can find our donuts every day at Damn Fine Coffee in Logan Square, and Friday-Sunday at The Wormhole in Wicker Park. You can also special order donuts by the dozen, or look for us at street fairs, festivals, pop-up shops, and farmers markets in the Chicago area. It means our donuts are made without animal products like milk, eggs, and honey. They still contain all the important things that make donuts delicious though!
